Tom Herr!

Yeah, it’s taken us quite a long while to announce a Grand Prize Winner in our “Rudie Can’t Fail!” photo contest. It was just such a tough choice! All 3 of the photo entries of fish caught on the Rude Trude were nice fish, though none was a true trophy trout. Truth is, any fish caught on a Rude Trude is a trophy, given how hard it was to get trout to eat the fly. Kudos to Rachel, Asher, and Tom for taking on the formidable challenge and scoring big!

In the end, we reminded ourselves that it was a photography contest, and Tom’s close-up photo of a beautiful Yellowstone Cutthroat was our favorite. Congratulations, Tom! We’ll be sending the Fishpond Cerveza Sidekick your way. Asher and Rachel will not be going home empty handed; we’ll be getting them some swag as well.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Rude Trude Challenge! We hope you had fun. We got rid of a bunch of free Rude Trudes, but we still have a fair number remaining here at Sweetwater Fly Shop. So look for a rerun of the contest next summer. The Rude Trude mania will return!
