As of Wednesday evening, the Mother’s Day Caddis were thick on the Yellowstone River at least as far upstream as Point of Rocks. This morning, the water clarity was fine up in that area as well. However, flows are on their way up above Yankee Jim Canyon (at Corwin Springs) and the Lamar River is also spiking upward. So your time to hit great dry fly fishing is probably limited, especially given the predicted temperatures late this week and into the weekend. Time to take a sick day (“caddis fever”) and get out on the Yellowstone River while you still can! Stop by Sweetwater Fly Shop and we’ll point you towards some killer bugs.
