George has been described as one of the best fly fishers in the nation. He has developed a truly global approach to nymph fishing, which he now teaches through his book and seminars. for a full bio, click here.
The focus of George’s class is to build a strong nymphing foundation, with an emphasis on fishing without a suspension device (aka indicator). The tactics discussed will include tight lining and European style nymphing. The purpose of this class is not to persuade you to only fish with tight line tactics, but to demonstrate where/when fishing without a suspension device makes the most practical sense. The 6-hour class will include approximately 2 hours of “classroom” instruction and 4 hours of on-the-water instruction. Topics covered will include equipment, reading the stream, casting weighted rigs, presenting nymphs in shallow, medium, and deep water, reading the drift, line management, rigging, pattern selection, and one on one instruction.
