Five years ago, Diane and I began our wild ride as the new owners of Sweetwater Fly Shop. What a crazy journey it’s been! I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. How many of us have the chance to turn our obsession into a career, a lifestyle? When I jumped into this business five years ago, how could I have known how much I would learn (and continue to learn almost every day), how many interesting people I would meet?
We couldn’t have done it without the considerable help we’ve received from others along the way, too many people to thank individually. The previous owners, our shop managers, the summer employees, the guides, the informal advisors, all have played an important role in our success and growth. We thank all of you.
Most of all, we thank you, our loyal customers and clients! We couldn’t have done it without you.
As we pause to reflect on the past, we can’t help but be excited about the future. Despite the Yellowstone River closure this summer, we’re currently wrapping up our most successful year yet. The next five years promise to be even more exciting and successful. We’re glad that you will be sharing the fun with us.
Now is the perfect time for us to re-commit to the exceptional customer service that we have striven to provide over the past 5 years. Whether you are a novice or an expert, local or distant, young or old, male or female, you deserve our attention, assistance, and advice. Here at Sweetwater Fly Shop, we will continue to do all we can to make your interactions with us a pleasure. Fly fishing is fun, and so should be your fly shop experience! If we ever fall short, please let us know and we’ll do our best to make things right.
We have ambition, but we pledge not to lose sight of what makes Sweetwater Fly Shop special. Thank you for sharing our journey with us over these last 5 years. Here’s to the next 5 years and beyond.
