I just received notice that the National Park Service is considering a ban on felt-soled wading boots for Yellowstone National Park, beginning in May, 2018. Felt soles are currently allowed in YNP, but concern about the transfer of aquatic invasive species has led the Park Service to consider the regulation change for the 2018 fishing season. Felt soles are more difficult to clean than rubber soles and are thought to be more likely to transfer unwanted species between waterways. Just one thing to consider if you are thinking of replacing your wading boots.
